We invite economists, statisticians, policymakers, and practitioners working on agricultural, forestry, fishery, and rural statistics, in their economic, social and environmental dimensions, to participate in the 10th International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS X) to be held in Krakow, Poland on 8-10 July 2026. The theme of the Conference is “Data and Digitalization for Resilient and Sustainable Agri-Food Systems”.

Background

The International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS) was initiated in 1998, in response to the overarching need for better agricultural data worldwide. The Conference is held every three years to address issues of agricultural statistics development. United States, Italy, Mexico, China, Uganda, Brazil, and India have been the host countries for ICAS in the past. Building on its strong tradition, ICAS X will bring together a global community to discuss innovations, emerging challenges, and best practices in agricultural and rural statistics to advance sustainable food systems and rural development. This is exclusively an in-person conference.

The Tenth International Conference on Agricultural Statistics will take place on 8-10 July 2026 in Krakow, Poland. The main conference will take place for three days and will include oral presentations of papers in technical sessions, panel discussions, keynote speeches, and poster sessions. ICAS is usually annexed with side events and trainings organized by partnering organizations as the pre- and post-conference events.

The Conference will be hosted by Statistics Poland, in coordination with the World Bank, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and under the auspices of the Committee on Agricultural Statistics of International Statistical Institute (ISI-CAS).

The ICAS X aims to advance the global dialogue on the use of data and digitalization to make agriculture and agri-food systems more resilient. As agriculture deals with growing challenges like extreme weather events, market shocks, and changing food needs, the conference will look at how new data systems, digital tools, and modern statistical methods can help improve decision-making, shape better policies, and manage resources more effectively across the sector.
